AI and the future of transport technology

Transport AI 2026, the third event in this popular series, will bring together public and private sector professionals to showcase the latest developments in artificial intelligence (AI) for the transport and planning sectors.

It will reveal the results of the first comprehensive Transport AI sector readiness survey, carried out by Landor LINKS and partners, and outline the direction of travel for local government and transport authorities, consultants and suppliers.

The new venue in Birmingham will offer a large and comfortable space for showcasing and demonstrating the tools, products, services and use cases for AI across local government and transport authorities.

RTIG is a partner for this event and members can receive discounted tickets when registering.

State of AI in the UK Transport Survey

This survey – designed for local government, consultants, engineers and suppliers – forms part of the first State of AI in UK Transport Report, produced by Landor LINKS – the results will be shared at the Transport AI 2026 conference in Birmingham on 30 January. All responses will remain confidential and results will be reported in aggregate. A digital copy of the final report will be shared with all respondents.

The simple questions collect data on the current and planned use of AI – including types of AI, use cases, skills & training and resource / funding – for transport and planning professionals across the UK.
